Dixie here...
It's been great weather lately for going outside... the grass is green and the dandelions are growing. Little critters hide in the leafy bushes and trees -but I can sniff them out! I've got a great nose!
Speaking of dog noses... Dog noses are part of the dog's skin, and is made of three layers of integument ( I read a lot...) rather than the five layers like on other parts of their body. It looks really tough and thick like leather. The outer layer of cells on the nose is called the stratum corneum (horny layer). The grooves on the surface give it a textured appearance, and this texture is unique to every animal, just like fingerprints are unique in humans.
