More Snow...

 

We got another 6 inches of snow yesterday for a total of 18 inches in 2 days!  I'm ready to visit friends in Florida!!!

I hope evereyone had a nice Christmas!  Mom got a new camera... I'm using it here.  The Biscuit got a Lamb Chop toy at Scalawags Pet Boutique... no new bed for him. So he's hogging my new bed and I have to sit alone on the couch...

5 Years Old...

My birthday was earlier this month... I didn't mention it because my grampy crossed the rainbow bridge - but I'm 5 years old now! 

The Biscuit threw a party for me the other day... he distracted mom from her cooking so I could eat what she was preparing for my dad!  Love My Biskey! 

Oh yes, and as you can see, I've torn my 'Princess Red Sox t-shirt'... out of frustration... hope next year they do better!   

Healthy and Beautiful!

 

As I said in my last post, I went for my annual check-up the other day.  The vet said I was healthy and beautiful!  I got an 'A*' on my report.  I'm at my perfect weight...

More on The Biscuit...

 

I had a check-up last week and my mom talked to the vet about The Biscuit and the chicken incident.  The vet told mom that golden retrievers don't kill birds, they 'retrieve' them for their owners. She said The Biscuit didn't kill the chicken - which is what we felt all along.  Dr S thought the chicken died of fright!  Well I know everyone in our house feels better!  I know The Biscuit is a gentle soul.  I pick on him relentlessly and he's always ready to play and he lets me win! 

Bad Biscuit

Mom was taking me and The Biscuit for a ride this afternoon. Mom lets Biskey go to the car without his leash... and sometimes he goes in the backyard to pee first. Mom had me on the leash and brought me to the car and I hopped in. Biscuit came running and jumped in and he had one of the neighbor's chickens in his mouth for mom!  He was so proud of himself and laid it down in back where I was waiting for him. 

Apparently the gate was left open and the chickens were in our backyard.  The neighbor was crying when mom told her.  I felt bad for her and my Biscuit.

Couch Potato

Do you wonder why I haven't posted?   I've turned into a couch potato!  Here I am... this morning... my dad bundled me up at 4 am on the couch because I was cold!  Mom took these photos at 9am... I still hadn't gotten up!  

Yup, I'm spoiled! 

Accident...

Dixie here... I have a boo-boo paw.  Yesterday in the afternoon I was sitting in one of the mesh chairs on the porch instead of sitting in my own plush seated one.  I jumped off the seat and one of my toe nails was caught in the mesh and I ripped it out.  Mom heard the crash as the chair fell over, but I didn't cry. 

She saw The Biscuit looking at what she thought was a worm or something in the center of the tipped over chair and realized it was my nail!  She got bandages and packed my foot to stop the bleeding, and I didn't cry.  Then she brought me in the house and put me in my parlor chair and proceeded to wash my toe with peroxide after she looked up what to do...

That's when I cried... sort of a delayed reaction.  That stuff stings - no wonder kids hate it when you wash their cuts and scrapes!  Anyway, she wrapped it with a bandage after she put antibiotic ointment on it and I've been hopping around. 

Today I feel better but don't touch it!  I'm chilling in my porch chair, and as you can see, the bandage is in place.  I've been a good girl and not chewed it off! 

By the way, my nail won't grow back... 

Rainy Sunday...

My favorite place to be on a chilly rainy day like today is in my mom's lap!  She's nice and toasty!!!

My nephew...

My 'nephew' (mom's grandson) AJ - came to visit for a week!  He's 11 years old.  I think he liked me the best!  But I'll let you be the judge!

2-Year Anniversary!!!

Dixie here... Monday of this week was my 2-year anniversary of living in Maine!  I love my family, the only family I have ever had, and of course The Biscuit.  I am as mischievous as ever - it's my nature - and I am spoiled rotten!  Happy Anniversary to me!!!

Is Spring Here???

Dixie here... Mom and dad got me a new pink T-shirt to wear in the house.  It's a Red Sox 'Princess' T-shirt - dad picked it out!  They bought it at Scalawags Pet Boutique in Kennebunkport - my favorite store!  I get cold, and my sweaters are too heavy for indoors.  Well, it's been so nice the last 2 days that I've been outside with it on!

I have to tell you that I love feathers... I know - feathers are for the birds!  Seriously, last fall and this winter, feathers are a fashion statement whether on earrings and necklaces, headbands and belts, scarves and hats, shoes and socks... It's part of BOHO style... put some in your hair, on a cocktail dress, your wrap, sweater or coat... They're a little retro and glamorous... feminine and flirty... and you know who I like to flirt with! 

Another Lazy Day...

The Biscuit and I had a tug of war over that luscious bone you see by the bureau.  After we both chewed on it for a while, we fell asleep!

Head Scarf

I was shopping the other day and found a beautiful head scarf to keep my ears out of my dog bowl when I eat and off the ground when I'm sniffing around.  What do you think?  Chic!

The New Year...

Sorry I haven't written to you all, my friends.  It's been cold and all I want to do is curl up on the couch with my warm Biscuit and sleep.  Brrrr!
